Kelli & Lee's wedding in Edinburgh

29th March 2017
Ah... you can't beat the first wedding of the season. We could easily book weddings for every month, but prefer to keep January & February quiet so we can plan new ideas, test shoot styles and fine tune anything from the previous year.
But by the time Kelli & Lee's wedding came around, I was champing at the bit to go!

The wedding was taking place at the lovely Bonham Hotel in Edinburgh, the first time I's shot wedding photography at that Edinburgh venue (first time for the celebrant too it turns out), and after negotiating Edinburgh's West End traffic, I abandoned my car in the car park grabbed my two Fuji Xpro2s with prime lenses and made my way upstairs to see Kelli.
She was very relaxed, and with this being a very small and personal wedding, she was quietly going about her business on her own until the make up artist arrived.
We chatted about picture options for inside the building as it was still wet outside... but being a building full of character, I'd filled my notebook with ideas by the time I'd got to room 104 to see Kelli.

A short while later, the bus from Dunbar arrived with all the guests and our groom Lee. It was quite funny as his mum stepped off the bus first just as Scotland scored a try at the rugby just a few streets away at Murrayfield and a massive roar went up.
"Congratulations... that was for you" I quipped with her.
I used to write for Cannon & Ball you know :)

With Lee onsite now, time started to shift towards ceremony time quite rapidly, and right enough, before we knew it Lee was standing front and centre, all the guests in rows behind as Kelli waited in the doorway with dad.
A short, but still lovely ceremony later and the very jovial party of wedding guests and happy couple were supping champers and beer as we took a few easy family shots before I took the newly weds a quick photo tour of the hotel.

Everyone in attendance was in good spirits and we set the bar quite high for the 2017 wedding season.
Kelli & Lee were amazing to work with , and extremely accommodating. I got all the nice photos I wanted, and I made sure all the guests requests were catered for as well.
As the speeches came to an end, I made my leave and headed home to start my editing process... and here we are with a Gallery of over 300 photos (see link below) and a groovy slideshow.

Should you like any prints, you can buy them direct from the Gallery too.

But in the meantime, enjoy the slideshow and the sample photos of what was a really wonderful wedding.

Hello 2017 season... what a great start !
