Nicola & Ross's wedding in Port Seton

14th July 2017
This wedding through up a small logistical challenge... with the evening reception being switched to Edinburgh's MacDonald Holyrood Hotel, and with their being events around that area... there was no way I'd be able to guarantee getting parked up and out with gear without driving around for ages and missing the afternoon session.
So I opted for the 'posh' version of the available plans and arranged to jump in the front passenger seat of the rather swish Lanchester 1920's vintage car (which is going to appear on The One Show soon).

I felt like quite the celeb being driven around, even though most people were looking at the bride & groom in the back :)

My day started as per normal, a relaxed hour or so with Nicola, before heading of to the church to meet up with Ross & the groomsmen.
Chalmers Memorial Church is lovely, all wood panels, and painted light blue with birds & fish motifs.

Only down side was being sent to the balcony by Tom, for any photos.
But one nice ceremony later, we were outside with a small set of family photos before we stopped off with the newly weds at Port Seton Harbour for a few pics. The wind started getting up a bit so we didn't spend too long there, but with the Lanchester's cruising speed being quite low, and Edinburgh afternoon traffic eating up time, it was just as well, as we got to the hotel in time to let Nicola & Ross relax before the next bit of the day... speeches & food.

Nicola & Ross are a real easy going, fun couple. It was like being with friends more than just being their photographer, so the day sailed by.
After I'd checked every website known to man on my phone as they all ate dinner, we got cracking with the dancin'.
The staff got the room turned around, evening guests arrived and after the cake cutting the band moved straight into the 1st dance.
I even managed to pull our bonny couple (out to the balcony for one last photo before my lift arrived to take me home (I git so used to being chauffeured around I got Ali to come pick me up).
A great day out with fabby people.
