Stacey & David's wedding at Glenskirlie Castle

17th August 2017
I've known Stacey for a few years through other wedding venues where she has worked, so this Sunday wedding at Glenskirlie had a nice familiar feel to it... even though I'd not been to this venue since 2011.
It was a lovely sunny day when I got up in the morning, but by the time I'd set off it was quite torrential rain... and it stayed wet right up to after the wedding breakfast.
We'll come back to that in a mo.

I arrived there just before any of the wedding party, but was shortly joined by Stacey & family. We eased into the day planning the Plan B & C for photos, but no matter what Plan we were going with... Stacey was cool. Nice & relaxed.

Soon the guys arrived, and that added the full gang to my photo list I could shoot... as I went from the guys downstairs to the girls upstairs several times (good cardio - no idea why I'm not fit as a fiddle).

Before too long... Stacey was in her dress upstairs, and David was down stairs in the chapel with Humanist Graham Duff... David looking a tad more nervous now.

Stacey made her entrance with Dad and we were off !
Graham always leads a lovely ceremony and big applause to Stacey's oldest Keri who did a reading ... I say reading but it was all memorised... brilliant. Cool as a cucumber.

It was still raining when we wanted to shoot the family pics, so the staff were good enough to leave the room empty for us to use... then I popped around 2 or 3 inside spots with our newly weds until they were announced in to their wedding brekkie.

Later on - before the dancin' - we did get a spell with no rain ! Bonus !
We nipped outside and grabbed few shots before cake cutting and dancing got under way.

I hung around for the father-daughter dance (and held back the tears - this always gets me as I think ahead a few years!) and stayed for a wee bit of the disco before I started packing up, and found Stacey & David outside.
It was still rain free at this point so we finished of the wedding photography, here at Glenskirlie Castle with a few nice shots on the wee bridge and in front of the main building.

All in all it was a fast thinking day, but a good day.

Big hugs to David & Stacey for having me at their big day !
